Peter
Parthenis is the driving force behind Grecian Delight®
Foods. His friendly, Mediterranean manner and entrepreneurial spirit
has spiraled the Gyros Sandwich trend into a national favorite fast
food item. In 1971,
as a recent graduate with a Masters in Engineering from the University
of Illinois, Peter was challenged by the Chicago restaurant community
to design an improved vertical broiler on which Gyros cones could
be cooked. His creation, the Autodonor®
led to the opening of Grecian Delight®
Foods in 1974. Grecian Delight®
remains a privately owned and operated company with a system-wide
commitment to quality and customer service.
